No, not a new cartoon put up by EgoRaptor on Newgrounds - yes, I have watched them all - but my review of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, a.k.a Transformers 2, a.k.a Transformers: BADASS.

I loved the film.

I'll let you simmer with that for a while, as I know many people, especially here on deviantART, disliked this film, possibly even hated it. But I loved it with every fibre on my man-child being, from the top of my boyhood brain to the deepest reaches of my fanboyish guts and beyond. The CGI was vastly improved, I felt, which helped with the whole realism thing, but that was a small part of a much larger picture - the robots, and the quantity of robots. My god, was Optimus's call heard and ANSWERED HARD. There are so many new robots, and as such the film is much more centered on them, rather than in the first film where Bay stated that he wanted to "focus more on the people." Fair play to him, he did that and it worked, but this film just kicks ass.

Optimus showed us what he can do, and in a way truly befitting of the leader of the Autobots, and as the last Prime - he took on Megatron, Starscream and a third Decepticon while trying to protect Sam, and he did pretty damn well! At the end, thanks to Jetfire, he kicked even more ass in a fight scene that was a little too short but nonetheless wholeheartedly awesome. I was also greatly happy that Starscream got more screentime, and he had the proper voice that I wanted him to - the snivelling, creepy side-kick voice that he had in the cartoons that made him one of my favourite Decepticons!

I am aware that there were lots of comic-relief characters, but I liked them - they broke up the action and the dismal parts of the film without destroying the seriousness of the plotline and the hardships of the main characters. Also, the voice of the Twins was Tom Kenny, who is the masterful voice of SpongeBob SquarePants - which i thought was extra awesome. Megan Fox was just lovely, and Michael Bay created enough carnage and chaos to last me until this film comes out on Blu-Ray.

Even the story, which some people find laborious or stupid or hard to follow (seriously?) was pure Transformers - something that could easily have been taken from one of the cartoon shows, and I thought it was translated and come across really well. Overall, this film is a boyhood dream - a Transformers storyline featuring lots and lots of giant transforming robots with lots of comedy and very nice ladies. I don't know what else people could want from a film that is, essentially, a childhood boy's dream come true.

When did you start drawing?
I remember drawing when I was very young, and I've read quite a few How-To-Draw books, most of them I have since discarded, but I suppose I've always been drawing if I could

Which hand do you use for drawing?
My right hand, because my left hand isn't much good for anything!

Which is easier to draw - male or female
Male, as you will probably have guessed from my gallery - I've got very nearly no female pictures in there! I don't know why, I just find the female form hard to do right, probably because I don't want to offend anyone!

Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Either or, it's mostly specific styles that I suffer with

Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
I'm ok with either actually, it really depends on how I start the drawing or plan it

Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
I suck at both head-on and profile shots, so I tend to avoid them altogether if I can

What do you have problems in drawing?
Hands and feet like most people, animals and backgrounds are especially bad, cars and machinery - I'm not the best artist, and nor do I profess to be!

What do you like to draw?
Fun things, and most of all easy things that are well within my artistic capability because I am a lazy sod

Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I'm more digital, but I still can't draw very well with my graphics tablet, so for what I call proper art I'll always pencil and ink on paper, then scan it in before colouring it on photoshop

Where do you start drawing from?
I start off with a basic skeletal stickman, which is an absolute saviour! Then I usually end up going from the head down, then once I've got the body structure on there I go around adding in detailed parts

What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
Avoiding things that I find hard to do! I will try and find any kind of way to avoid it! It's a bad habit, I know

Any tips for coloring/shading?
Ha, well not really, I just use the colour palette thing on photoshop and fiddle around

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
It really depends on the art, but I will always try and get an entire page done in a day, otherwise I will forget what I wanted to do or lose the will to finish it

What music do you listen to while you draw?
My iTunes is always on shuffle, so it varies greatly

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
That depends on the art itself again, and if I get given an idea or not - though since I'm trying to do an Epicus a day, I suppose I can't spend long trying to think things up!

Your favorite drawing utensils?
Technical pencil, graphics tablet, mouse and photoshop

Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Depends on the art again!

Your favorite style(s)?
Easy and simple, though I really admire the technical skill of some artists I've seen - that's just the style I like to use

What kind of artist are you aiming for?
Really I'd like to carry on making Epicus issues for a very long and just get known as a comedic artist really!

I apologise for not uploading anything for the past couple of days - I went to my girlfriend's house to go out for a massive fancy dress party in Guildford, along the theme of sailors and naval things, so we all went as navy people and sailorish things. No one went as a boat though, slightly disappointed there. I stayed the night and came back today, and I've been packing to go home tomorrow, so I haven't had a chance to do any more comics.

If you hadn't noticed already, I'm going to try and do an Epicus issue per day, providing I can think of things to include - depending on that I might have to take it down to once every two days, but I want to try and do them regularly as long as you lot keep liking them, then I'll keep doing them! Think I'll try and do some Randome cartoons as well when I get home, as well as entering ~betaOCT with Vincent. Yes. Vincent Vin'Syl. Har har har

[EDIT:] I just got back from the new Star Trek film, and it's BLOODY AMAZING! They've finally figured out that if you take away all the gayness that sullied the television series - all of them, I don't care how awesome Capt. Jean-Luc Picard was, his show was still gay - that it can actually be WICKED! AAAAAAAAAAAAH STAR TREK! [/EDIT]

My sincerest apologies to those who were sneaking back to see some of my new stuff, as I won't be posting much, if anything, for a while as it's the time of my final exams, and I need all the time to revise and panic about the bloody things. So The Epicus, The Randome and StickLife Chums will all have to go on hold, as will this awesome comic I've been working on, of which I've got one page inked. You'll get to see it over the summer probably, since I finish on the 15th, and will be sober by the 17th.
